sennder is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Product VP, Philip Jonas

Philip Jonas joins sennder as VP Product in its Berlin headquarters in June 2020 and will be part of sennder’s tech team, led by Dirk Daumann. As a result of rapid growth and geographical expansion, sennder is significantly scaling up its tech team. Philip Jonas will drive the development of sennder’s service offering to shippers and carriers and take the product range to the next level.

Philip Jonas has been an angel investor in the company since the very start in 2015 and now will personally join the truck ride. After following his path in venture building, he will explore the more entrepreneurial side of the business. He has a strong track record in working in cross-functional teams across various industries. Over the past 10 years, he gained extensive experience, for example at BCG Digital Ventures. Here, he led teams to invent, build, and scale disruptive digital businesses and products. sennder will also benefit from his entrepreneurial spirit that he demonstrated in companies like Rocket Internet.

sennder recently joined forces with his French counterpart Everoad. It will be one of Philip’s first challenges to merge and implement the two platforms. His main focus will be on combining the technologic strengths of both sennder and Everoad. Philip will therefore identify and strategically develop the relevant products and functionalities to underpin sennder’s position as European leader in digital freight forwarding.

Everoad has been in particular successful in automating the matching of open loads to carriers in a smart and profitable way. In that way, it smartly completes sennder’s mission: Moving trucks with the power of data and automation to unlock endless capacity and unparalleled quality.

sennder is committed to fast forward logistics into digitalization. In doing so, the scalable sennderOS, which constitutes several apps that add value to its shippers, carriers and drivers, serves as the fundamental backbone of sennder’s revenue growth across the six countries it currently operates in.

As a result of the merger, sennder will be able to offer improved on time performance and service due to better carrier suggestions, and extended carrier base, streamlined communication flows and reliable GPS-based ETA predictions.
