Berlin, Bucharest, 4th May - sennder, Europe’s leading digital freight forwarder, is launching a new office in Bucharest, Romania, entering the market as the first digital freight forward provider in the region. With 11 offices across Europe, sennder continues its strategic expansion to increase its carrier network density. The new office in Bucharest adds to sennder's growing presence in Central and Eastern Europe with the Polish and Baltic offices.

With more than 90,000 drivers and 25,000 transport companies, Romania is one of the fastest-developing logistics markets in Europe and an essential gateway between Central and Eastern Europe. sennder has been a first mover in the region launching Poland in September 2019 and the Baltics in May 2020. Since then, sennder has rapidly grown its presence, bringing its digital offering to increase efficiency and transparency in the region.

“We are excited to announce our expansion to Romania, one of the largest logistics markets in Europe. Opening this office is an important step to bring our vision of leveraging technology to lead logistics into a sustainable future within the region. As we grow our footprint across Europe, we continue to unlock opportunities for carriers and shippers, enabling more efficient and transparent road logistics in a complex and unpredictable market environment,” says Tom Christenson, COO at sennder.

sennder’s operations in Romania are led by Bogdan-Gabriel Steliean. Steliean brings more than 10 years of logistics expertise to sennder’s leadership team from cargo partners, DHL Freight, and GEFCO Group. The company plans to further expand the team in Bucharest from currently 11 to 40 employees by the end of the year. sennder is hiring across all positions, including HR, finance, and Sales.

Bogdan-Gabriel Steliean, Senior Manager, Operations comments: “The office expansion is a logical next step to bring more density to Europe's largest network of carriers. With European logistics experiencing volatility, we are looking to shore our position in Central and Eastern Europe with more carriers and shippers. We look forward to being a reliable partner to carriers and shippers in Romania who will benefit from sennder’s digital platform to help mitigate shortcomings in the market.”

sennder’s mission is to leverage data to create an efficient road freight network. Through its digital platform, sennder directly connects enterprise shippers with small and medium-sized trucking companies. sennder can offer shippers and carriers more routes, greater visibility, and increased savings while decreasing emissions. The sennder platform comprises over 40,000 trucks servicing ten German DAX 30 and eleven Euro Stoxx 50 shippers – with more than 1 million truckloads moved to date.
